Rookie harness racing colt Bet The Bb (All Bets Off) won his fourth consecutive dash on Wednesday (Nov. 22) at Flamboro Downs.
Travis Cullen sent him out of third and to the lead entering the backstretch for the first time, reaching the engine at the quarter in :29.1. Bet The Bb cruised to the half in :59.1 but faced the first-over P H Jim (Travis Henry) as the field swung for the backstretch.
P H Jim cut into the lead and was a half-length back on the outside at three-quarters in 1:28. Bet The Bb put her away on the final turn and resisted the bid of Yankee Clout from the pocket to score in 1:56.4.
Yankee Clout finished a length-and-three-quarters behind in second. P H Jim held third.
There was a single-horse accident in the race in which Hank The Hunk unseated driver Larry Small. Both were okay, and Small completed his other scheduled drive on the night.
BET THE BB REPLAY
Bet The Bb was laid off for three months after his July debut and returned in late October with a place finish. He has not lost any of his four races since for trainer Jodie Cullen and has now earned $14,325 in six total tries. Travis Cullen owns and bred the freshman.
