CHESTER, Pa.— Yogi Sheridan delivered a resounding harness racing victory as the 2-5 choice when guiding Musical Box (Net Ten EOM) to an open-length decimation in the $9,900 American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) Pace at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday (Nov. 26).
Leaving from post 4, Musical Box grabbed the lead with Yer So Bad (driven by Anthony Verruso) securing the pocket and Select Friday (Brandon Filion) caught wide from third. Musical Box clicked a :27.4 first quarter and stayed steady through to a :56.3 half while Select Friday floundered on the rim and soon reversed course.
Sheridan kept Musical Box rolling up the backstretch and soon enough his advantage began growing. He stepped past three-quarters in 1:24.4 with a two-length lead and spun around the final turn to hold a five-length advantage into the lane. Musical Box continued widening the margin through to the beam, finishing 11-1/2 lengths better than Yer So Bad back in second. Cheyenne Ryan Lee (Wyatt Long) made gains from the back to take third and Uncle Coz (William Clark Jr.) gave chase in fourth.
Jamal Williams trains Musical Box, a 6-year-old gelding, for owner Winning Action LLC. He paid $2.80 to win.
