Although he has an exceptional record on the grass, winning four of his six starts on this surface, Spreydon Lodge harness racing trainer Stephen McRae says Franco Norton (A Rocknroll Dance) is still not at his peak for Sunday’s Methven Green Mile.

Over the three seasons the gelding has raced, McRae has found him quite challenging to train and he’ll go into Sunday’s mile in a fresh state after he last started in the Hannon Memorial at Oamaru in September. He’s been to two workouts on the grass since.

Franco Newport (Bettor’s Delight) lines up for McRae in Race Two.
Done Rockin (A Rocknroll Dance) starts in Race Four. He’s a half-brother to champion international mare Shartin.
