Emerald’s Legacy glistens in second straight

WASHINGTON, PA, Dec. 6, 2023  — Emerald’s Legacy (Father Patrick-Devilish Emerald) quarter-poled to the top and drew off late to capture his second straight in Wednesday’s (Dec. 6) $21,200 Open Handicap harness racing trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Emerald’s Legacy yielded the early lead to Brookview Bolt but soon overtook that rival for Dave Palone. The 4-year-old gelding left Brookview Bolt in his wake, defeating him by 2 lengths in 1:54.4 over a “good” surface. The Hazelton rallied from last for show.

EMERALD’S LEGACY REPLAY

Scott Betts trains Emerald’s Legacy, who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $172,985, for Tim Betts, Nick Catalano, Keith Pippi and Shanamphilaniklou Inc. It was one of three wins for Palone on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the program features a $396.80 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (race 4).  First post is 12:45 PM.
