Champion reinsman Cameron Hart will rush 3600kms late on Friday night in a bid to land harness racing Group 1s on both sides of Australia.
Even though he is just 24, Hart landed his 1000th career winner last weekend when successful aboard Nerano (Tintin In America) at Brisbane Albion Park in a heat of the Inter Dominion Championship.
And the young Sydney-based reinsman admitted life was moving almost a āblurā at the moment as he buzzes between venues keeping a myriad of trainers happy.
After eight drives at Canberra last night, Hart is back at his Headquarters, Menangle today for six more drives on the eight-race program.
Yet his massive week will get even bigger when he heads to Perth on Friday night to handle one of his favourite pacers, My Ultimate Ronnie in the $200,000 Four-Year-Old Golden Nugget at Gloucester Park.
He’ll be straight on a plane to Brisbane that night in the hope of capping off the biggest 24 hours of his life when he handles New Zealand Cup winner Swayzee in the $530,000 Inter Dominion Grand Final in Brisbane on Saturday night.
Although he helped trainer Jason Grimson get Nerano through to the Grand Final, Hart will stick with Swayzee while another Sydneysider Jack Trainor has picked up the plum drive on one of the surprise packets of the series.
āNerano is absolutely flying,ā said Hart.
āIn the first couple of Inter Dom heats he was able to work out of the gate, find a good spot and then get the run he really loves and be set up for the last 200 or 300m.
āHe has lethal speed and is full of confidence at the moment and when you pull him out he just wants to run.
āTo sprint past Spirit Of St Louis in the last round of heats on Saturday night was pretty impressive and showed how quick he is.ā
Yet Hart is happy to stick with Swayzee.
āI thought heād get crossed on Saturday night and I was super happy with his performance . . . his last 400m was pretty unbelievable,ā he said.
āHopefully he can get a nice trip in the final and be right in the mix.ā
And while local champion Leap To Fame will be the favoured runner on Saturday night, Grimson has two serious chances of making it a hat-trick of Inter Dom Grand Final wins with Swayzee and Nerano pressing him for favouritism.
