Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 3:35pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Storm Cloud (5) Racing well and drawn to be competitive. Should go close in this field
Lady Peak (6) Getting better with racing and weaker field here. Could surprise with a good trip
Whatever It Takes (3) Manners the only concern here. Trialed ok and winning claims here

Race 2

Prides Contessa (9) Top driver booked and the ability is there. Form reversal would not surprise
Kardashian (7) Not far away on grass last start. Not the worst if she can get handy early. Include
The Next Best Thing (8) A bit unlucky last start getting too far back. Can improve quickly

Race 3

Foveaux Gambler (8) Grass and track suit. Driver change for this and winning claims here
Rapid Response (5) Decent draw and a quick beginner from the stand. Will race handy to the speed
B Smart (4) Good second on grass last start and getting better with racing. Has to be respected

Race 4

Henry Winkler (8) Disappointing last start but had excuses. Give another chance. Top selection
Trail Boss (3) Top driver booked and he has gone well at trials.  Should go close with manners
Foliejon Park (4) Trainer has a good record on the track. Freshened for this and not the worst.

Race 5

Paige (1) Strikes a good draw and sprint trip suits. Can win with manners and a trailing run
Vertigo (2) Sprint on grass is her go and can place at longer odds with the right trip. Include here
Jordan Anne (4) Getting fitter and will be improved from last start fourth. Due to show some form

Race 6

Kingsdown Atom (1) Drawn to trail early. Looks one of the better chances from the draw. Include
Classie Linc (7) Speedy and grass suits. Draw not great but chance if fully fit and brings her a-game
Just Holla (2) Chance for a soft lead from the draw. Should be in front for a long way and can stick on

Race 7

Clyde (3) Should be improved for this after a solid run at Geraldine. Winning claims with a quick start
Dwindle Star (9) Disappointing last start but sprint trip suits and good beginner. Give another chance
Buffy Northstains (14) Normally runs home well on grass. Tricky draw but one of the better chances

Race 8

Tabasco (11) Big motor but has been disappointing in stronger fields. Can get into the placings here
Poetry In Motion (1) Tricky draw but grass suits. Winning claims here if she can get handy mid race
Szybka Lane (8) Good form and likes to race handy. Chance at longer odds if she goes forward early

Race 9

Emma’s Delight (14) No form but has won on the track and top driver booked. Chance at longer odds
Wolfenstein (4) Freshened for this. Good draw and like to lead. Could be in front for a long way here
Shards Fury (13) Another tricky draw but back with original trainer. One for longer odds in this field
