Leading Western Canada harness racing driver Brandon Campbell took six of the day’s eight races at Century Mile on Friday (Dec. 15).

Brandon Campbell

Raging Beauty (Outrageous Art) stumbled entering the stretch, but she recovered for Campbell and kicked home to a two-and-a-half-length win. She broke her maiden in 2:00.1 with the effort for owner/breeder/trainer Samuel Johnson.

RAGING BEAUTY REPLAY

Campbell worked his magic in his first time sitting behind Outlaw Allie Oops (Blue Burner) in the third. He swung her three-wide turning for home, and she rocketed to a six-and-a-quarter-length victory. The seven-year-old put up 1:56.4 on the teletimer in her debut for trainer John Chappell.

OUTLAW ALLIE OOPS REPLAY

Campbell’s third win came with Ima Beach Diva (Sunshine Beach), who closed from fourth to first in the final sprint for a 1:55 win by a length.

The reinsman’s final three came in succession to close out the card. Teddy Hanover (Betting Line) flew from sixth midway down the stretch and reached up in a blanket finish for the victory in 1:57.3. Then Artician (Mystician) rallied down the lane to get up by three-quarters-of-a-length in 1:58.2 in the seventh, and Outlawstormywether (Blue Burner) held off Metaki to take the finale by a neck in 1:55.1.

TEDDY HANOVER REPLAY

Campbell is clicking at a 28 per cent rate this season with 288 wins in 1,029 starts. He has set career highs in wins and earnings while leading the standings at Century Mile, Century Downs, and Fraser Downs.

Century Mile will continue racing on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 6:15 p.m. MST.
