The outstanding French horse Bold Eagle, Europe’s first sub 1:50 trotter and a dual Grand Prix d’Amerique winner. He will be represented by one of his first Australian crop at our Melbourne sale on Sunday, February 4. This outstanding progeny is sure to raise some eyebrows and some hands for any astute buyers in 2024.
It is a bay colt, listed as Lot 104 in the catalogue, who is being offered by Londonderry (NSW) couple Neal and Michelle Wardle and prepared by Kilmore horsewoman Monique Burnett. The Wardle’s will be offering 4 lots at this year’s Melbourne sale including this trotter, Lot 153, Lot 191 and Lot 212. However, with the Bold Eagle progeny being the only trotter among them he will be well placed moving into the APG Trotters Race Series in 2025.
In a decorated career Bold Eagle won 46 races including 24 at Group 1 level and a staggering $8million. This is the third highest amount earned by a trotter… ever.
Among his progeny are the Swedish champion Aetos Kronos, the Swedish Breeders Crown winner Eagle Eye Sherry and newly crowned world champion Jushua Tree, the winner of the prestigious Criterium Continental at the Winter meeting at Vincennes, Paris recently.
