Im Ready Jet gets the job done

Harness racing trainer Anton Golino believes Im Ready Jet (Quaker Jet) is racing her way into peak form after getting the job done in the Derby Royale Trotters Free For All at Shepparton.

Sent out a $1.65 favorite, Im Ready Jet was involved in an early battle for the lead but driver Nathan Jack opted to ease out of proceedings landing in the one out one back trail while Kyvalley Hotspur enjoyed a leisurely lead.

Im Ready Jet pulled out to stake its claim down the back before gradually forging clear in the home straight scoring by four metres from Kyvalley Hotspur with Illawong Stardust five metres away third.

Golino is hoping the mare increases her fitness levels in the coming weeks.

“While she got the job done she’s probably not right at her best at the moment and mixing her form a bit,” Golino said.

“Two starts ago I thought she was super but last week I thought she was a bit average. Normally we don’t back her up but whether it’s getting a bit harder to get her fit as she gets older, so we’re hoping the regular racing helps her and she was a bit sharper tonight,” he said.

Golino said she will back up in the $50,000 The Knight Pistol at Ballarat next week.

“We’ll go to Ballarat next week because I think she just needs racing to be honest, I think she just needs a couple of starts to get her back to where she can be,” he said.

“Her work is great but there is something that is stopping her from being at her best so we’ll try a different thing and race her a bit and see if that works.”
