Front-end works for Hot Flash Kimmy

WASHINGTON, PA, Jan. 18, 2024 — Left alone during a leisurely :59.3 front half, Hot Flash Kimmy (Lookslikeachpndale-Hortop Temper) had little trouble holding her lead late as she captured Thursday’s harness racing feature at The Meadows, a $12,500 Conditioned Trot.

Hot Flash Kimmy was sent off the 1-5 favorite, which may have discouraged early challenges once the 4-year-old mare grabbed the lead from the gate. She easily thwarted the first-over bid of Carter Michael Deo and defeated him by 1-1/4 lengths for Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. Whiskey Bender finished third.

HOT FLASH KIMMY REPLAY

Michael Burke trains Hot Flash Kimmy, who has won four of her last five starts, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. It was one of three wins for Wrenn on the 13-race card, including a pair for Burke. Dave Palone also fashioned a triple.

Due to the heavy snow forecast to hit southwestern Pennsylvania, Friday’s card has been postponed by one day and will be contested Saturday, first post 12:45 PM. All of Friday’s races, entrants and post positions will be carried over to Saturday. That program features a $4,390.76 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (race 4).
