Today’s harness racing action in France was at Cagnes-sur-Mer with the featured Prix Une de Mai with the victory going to front-stepping 6.8/1 odds Epsom d’Herfraie (Rieussec)
The ten year old gelding was timed in 1.12.7kr for the 2925m journey defeating 13 other contestants in the contest for eight to eleven year old trotters carrying a purse of 58,000€.
Winning driver, Louis Baudouin had a big smile when confronted post race with the Equidia Racing microphone.
“It’s so good, it’s great. He continues to make us happy. I’m delighted. We drove 12 hours, so we had to be hungry. I was above the rest from start to finish. He was happy to be there. Well done to the whole team,” he said.
Louis Baudouin teamed the now 19-time winner in 57 starts for Ecurie le Rivage and trainer J.M. Baudouin, advancing the earnings of Epsom d’Herfraie to 482,500€.
Ten year old gelding, Eden Basque (Singalo) was second ay 11/1 with trainer Nicolas Ensch driving for breeder/owner Ecurie Castagniccia, while ten-year-old gelding and 17/1 shot, Eclat des Noix (President) was third with J.Ch. Feron aboard for trainer Loic Lerenard.
