Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) won gate to wire in the harness racing Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Jan. 30).
Muscle Dynasty, who was a victim of the outside post last week, blasted his way to the top passing the opening quarter in 27.2 Northern Express secured a pocket trip. Global Believer S left and found a seat in fourth. Muscle Dynasty continued on the engine reaching the half in 56.4 a 29.2 quarter. Long shot, Last Glow, moved off the rail and trotted a coverless first over trip up the backstretch strip. Global Believer S followed second over and That Ole Bar Stool was carried 3rd over on the rim.
Muscle Dynasty, the 4/5 betting favorite, turned on the burners trotting to the three quarters in 1:24.4, a 28 flat quarter. Muscle Dynasty continued on the lead into the stretch. That Ole Bar Stool and Global Believer S circled 3 wide from the back of the pack. Northern Express took his cue from the pocket and charged late but was unable to make up any ground on the leader. Muscle Dynasty won in hand by two and a half lengths in 1:53.3. He paid $3.60 for the victory.
Muscle Dynasty is owned by Frank E Chick of Harrington, Delaware. Walter Callahan trained and Corey Callahan drove. Northern Express finished 2nd. That Ole Bar Stool picked up the show spot. The van transporting Global Believer S to the races encountered a flat tire but was able to reach Bally’s Dover on time. He finished fourth in the race.
