Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with twelve races on the card. The racing starts at 1:22pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Off The Edge (9) This looks easier than recent races. Could surprise at longer odds
Foveaux Gambler (5) Conditions suit here and in winning form. One of the better chances
Ruby’s A Delight (10) Gets into this race well and grass ideal. Can get some money here

Race 2

Kowhai Summit (6) Will be fitter and manners the only concern. Hard to beat
Hail Stone (4) Consistent form and good beginner. Should go close to top three again here
Imperial Command (5) Has been disappointing but might be the leader here. Include

Race 3

Vinnie Sims (4) Getting fitter and top driver booked. One for longer odds in this field
Hughes Two Me (6) Running on last start and weaker field here. Can run top three
Maybe Gold (7) Trained locally and driver change for this. Big improvement likely

Race 4

Addison Marie (7) Has been racing better fields than this. Can run top three with luck here
Terra Sancta (5) Racing well and has gate speed. Should be near the placings at the finish
Breeny’s Rock N Roll (1) Big upgrade in draws. Stronger field here but not the worst

Race 5

Buffy Northstains (11) Tricky draw but goes well on grass and good course stats. Top selection
Winning Bones (8) Good manners will take him a long way here. Place chance if he leads
Barrytown (7) Racing well and conditions suit in this. Will be running on in the straight

Race 6

Princess Meritaten (7) Big trial win against class horses recently. Looks home here
Hooroo (1) Better run last start. Can run a good race from the inside draw. Needed
Scarlett’s Legacy (2) Up in grade but has a bit of speed. Drawn to be a major player

Race 7

Fitzthebill (8) Wide draw and out of form but better than that. Winning claims at longer odds
Rapid Response (6) Best runs have been from the front and good beginner. Winning claims
Topaz (9) Drawn wide and will need a quick start but could surprise with a good run in transit

Race 8

Wavewatcher (7) Wide draw for this but has gate speed and in form. Has to be respected
Lord Fantasy (9) Trained locally and in form. This is harder but can run top three with luck
Bingo Bango (8) At his best would go close to placing here. Top three chance at longer odds

Race 9

Jimmy Carter (7) Depends on the start for him here. Looks the winner if he steps. Include
Maui (6) In great form and conditions suit here. Should run top three again with a good trip
Domination’s Call (5) Racing well in similar fields. Top three chance with slight improvement

Race 10

One Change (8) Disappointing last start but will be flying home. Small field helps here
Got You Covered (6) Should get a run through from the draw. Top win last start. Go again
Homebush Lad (7) Always a chance on grass  if the pace is on. Good record over longer trips

Race 11

Gotta Elect Bill (10) Track will suit and should get a soft run on the pegs. Can go close here
Classie Linc (5) Good against the best mares last start and conditions suit. Hard to beat
Tempo Warrior (3) Will be the probable leader early here. Can run top three with luck

Race 12

Night Watch (10) Much better last start and might try for an all the way win again. Include
Nubliah Chamay (5) Grass suits and in good form. Will need luck but a good place chance
Hanover Da Moon (2) Has been freshened for this. Not the worst in this at longer odds
