Given a perfect second-over trip by harness racing driver Austin Siegelman, Queen Of All (Swan For All) was able to swing off the live cover and score a 1:56.3 triumph in capturing the $35,000 Invitational Trot for Fillies and Mares Thursday (Feb. 22) at Yonkers Raceway.
The 2nd race feature got underway with the race favorite, No Mas Drama and driver Joe Bongiorno shooting to the early lead from post six and led the field to the opening quarter mile in :28.1.
With No Turning Back (George Brennan) sitting the two-hole trip, No Mas Drama led the field past the half mile marker in :57.2 with no one challenging.
Then in the backstretch, Lady Jeter (Brent Holland) came first-over from third place, giving Queen Of All live second-over cover as they raced to the three-quarters in 1:26.3.
By the top of the stretch, No Mas Drama still was in control of the field, but Queen Of All was in motion for Siegelman, and they were able to gun down No Mas Drama in the lane to win by three-quarters of a length. No Turning Back was third.
QUEEN OF ALL REPLAY
It was the first win in five starts on the year for Queen Of All. The six-year-old mare is trained by Lance Hudson for owner William Hart and paid $6.00 to win as the second choice in the race.
