Record time set in 400,000€ marathon race

Today’s (Feb. 25) Gr. I International Prix de Paris – Marathon Race (purse 400,000€, 4150 meters (2.57 miles), 16 International trotteurs ages 4-11) saw 5.2/1 odds Hussard de Landret (7m Bird Parker-Enakine du Bellay) rally in the final turn and jet away in the lane to score timed in 1.11.9kr (mile rate 1:55.68) over the marathon distance of over two and five-eighths miles, besting the 1.13.3kr old mark set in 2022 by Diable de Vauvert.

Yoann Lebourgeois was the winning pilot for trainer/owner Benoit Robin. Hussard de Landret recorded career victory 10 in 58 starts now for 962,160€ earned.

The 19/1 Inmarosa (6f Amiral Sacha-Valkava) was second with Leo Abrivard up for L.C. Abrivard training for Jacque Cottel. Third was the game 14/1 Hooker Berry (7m Booster Winner-Osaka Berry) driven by Nicolas Bazire for Michel Aldenise, owner, and trainer Jean Michel Bazire.

Ganay de Banville (8m Jasmin de Flore) was fourth at 14/1 for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire for Ecurie Valliere Racing. It’s A Dollarmaker (6m Saxo de Vandel) at 11.1; Ampia Mede SM (8f Ganymede) at 5.6/1; and 5.6/1 Hokkaido Jiel (7m Brillantissime) completed the top seven to the line. Ampia Mede SM won the 2023 Paris Prize edition.
