Hollys Treasure (State Treasurer) won his first career top-level harness racing Preferred at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday (Feb. 26).
The gelding wired his opponents in the cardās finale. Dan Clements rated him to fractions of :27.2, :57.2, and 1:25.3. Smooth Lou (Garrett Rooney) maintained a first-over bid from the second turn to the final turn but surrendered in the stretch. Hollys Treasure was chased by P L Oliver for the final eighth of a mile and prevailed by a length-and-three-quarters in 1:54.3. P L Oliver finished second with Im Sponge Worthy (Jason Ryan) two further lengths back in third.

Hollys Treasure is now three-for-eight on the season. He had previously won a Preferred-4 at Leamington, but Mondayās win was his first in a top-level event. Cassidy Schneider trains the six-year-old, a 22-time winner in 104 career appearances. He has earned $149,047 lifetime.
