Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 3:11pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Santanna Mach (1) Winner of many races and draws best for this. Should be hard to beat
Southern Starr (4) Better than the form suggests and track stats ok. Can run top three
Wavewatcher (9) Likely to head forward early with his good gate speed. Will be there abouts

Race 2

Judy J (2) Raced well in better fields last campaign. Can go close here with no mistakes
Almighty (5) Trialing well and manners the only concern here. Has to be respected
Imperial Command (7) Not going that well but capable of placing if he can find the lead

Race 3

Melody Arden (1) Disappointing last start but previous form good in strong fields. Top selection
My Friend Louie (8) Has place form and can run top three here with a good run in transit
Tinder Rose (3) Last two runs were ok and not the worst at longer odds. Could surprise here

Race 4

Barrytown (7) Looked a run short last start but well placed here. One of the better chances
Cappaha (5) Has the form on the board and all depends on the start here. Has winning claims
Randel Huston P (8) Trainer respect but will need luck in transit. Win chance with no mistakes

Race 5

Rocknroll Diva (3) Drawn well and has showed gate speed in the past. One for longer odds
Wolf Of Wall Street (8) Has been racing ok but wide draw. Win chance with the right trip
Rakamurph (9) Tricky draw but looks well placed against this lineup. Will be running on well

Race 6

Ruby Roe (8) Wide draw but obvious ability and can run a quick mile rate. Top selection
Melody Banner (6) Freshened for this and conditions suit here. Winning claims with luck
Flying Ellie (7) Track should suit and not the worst in this at longer odds.

Race 7

Hanover Da Moon (4) Nice second last start in a stronger field. Goes well on the track. Include
Pyramid Mystic (5) Track will suit especially if she can lead early. Will take some catching in front
Majestic Love (8) Stable does well on the track. Tricky handicap but has winning claims here

Race 8

Black Pearl (3) Freshened and has a decent reputation. Will be ready to run a big race here
Teddy Baker (6) Ran home late last start. Draw makes it tough but might head forward early
Warrior Chief (10) At his best would go close to placing here. Pegs draw could work out ok
