Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) flexed his muscles after back-to-back subpar harness racing efforts and won the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Marh 5).
Northern Express left from post 8 and roared to the top, trotting the opening quarter in :27.2 over a sloppy racing surface. I Get It also left from the outside post and secured the pocket. Even odds betting favorite, Muscle Dynasty and driver Corey Callahan settled along the pylons in fourth.
Northern Express raced comfortably on the engine and trotted to the half in :56.4, a :29.2 quarter. Racing down the backstretch, the trotters were four in, four out.
Muscle Dynasty led the charge first over and challenged Northern Express as the trotters eyed each other at the three quarters in 1:25.1, a snappy :28.1 sprint.
I Get It remained in the pocket. Fifty Ways followed second over and Black Hope raced third over on the rim.
Northern Express and Muscle Dynasty squared off in the stretch. Muscle Dynasty was able to wear down the leader late and won by a measured length in 1:54.1. He paid $4.00 for the win.
MUSCLE DYNASTY REPLAY
Muscle Dynasty notched his fourth win of the season for owner Frank E. Chick of Harrington, Delaware and is trained by Walter Callahan. Northern Express fought hard and finished second. I Get It benefitted from the perfect journey and finished third.
A four-year-old trotter, The Fast Lane (Muscle Hill) won his 8th consecutive start for owners Dalphon and Laws of Delaware. Tim Crissman trains and Tony Morgan drove. Jody and Tae renew their rivalry in the 11th race $26,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday night. Bally’s Dover races Monday thru Thursday. Post time is 4:30 pm.
