Entries for NZB Standardbred’s 2024 National Weanling Sale are now open, with the Sale set to be held at the Karaka Sales Centre on Thursday 23 May.
Featuring a selection of the very best potential pinhook, racing and breeding stock on offer, the popular weanling session will this year be complimented by a select yearling session.
The Sale itself is headlined by graduates such as Aardiebytheseaside (Downbytheseaside), Bettorzippit (Bettor’s Delight), Mantra Blue (Sweet Lou), Maestoso (Majestic Son), Sinbad (Downbytheseaside) plus recent Harness Million contenders Dave Duley (Bettor’s Delight), Kiss (Always B Miki) and Ultimate Racy Girl (Ultimate Machete).
During the strong 2023 edition of the Sale quality lots were well sort after, with eight lots secured for $40,000 or more and fillies in demand from a strong international and domestic buying bench.
“We have continued to see strong results at this sale, not only in the sale ring during our short time of selling but also on the racetrack,” commented NZB Director of Operations James Jennings.
“We are pleased to be able to service our clients whose yearlings weren’t ready in February for reasons out of their control, by offering a yearling session this year.
“No doubt it will be a popular addition and the Sale will continue to provide a great opportunity for buyers and vendors alike.”
Adding further appeal to the bloodstock that will be on offer, all weanlings purchased at the Sale are eligible to be nominated for the lucrative Harness Million Sales Race Series.
Entries for the National Weanling Sale are open from today and will close on Friday 22 March.
