Ryal Bush harness racing trainer Peter Hunter and Wyndham’s Craig Ferguson have strong hands to play at Saturday’s Northern Southland Trotting Club meeting at Ascot Park.
Hunter’s maiden mare Northview Sweet (Sweet Lou) gets her chance to get a win on the board in Race Two. She was fair last start, but her best form is on the Ascot Park circuit.

Emerald Abbey (Sir Lincoln) used a good draw at her last start to run second but gets a tougher marble in Race Four.

In Race Nine Hunter gears up Raklou (Sweet Lou). She’s been disappointing this time in and hasn’t recaptured the form she had as an early two year old.

Craig Ferguson’s day doesn’t start til Race Eight. Five win trotter Port Pegasus (Pegasus Spur) is a recent addition to the barn, and he was last seen at the races in the middle of January.
Ferguson has two runners in the Lumsden Four Square Autumn Handicap Pace – Cormac Leo (Sweet Lou) and Nutcracker (Bettor’s Delight).
Cormac Leo impressed when winning at Addington last month. This will be his first attempt at the standing start.

Nutcracker last raced at the Northern Southland meeting in January but she was a two and a half length winner at the local workouts recently running home in 56.7 on an easy track.
