The Raceway at Western Fair Districted held a 10-dash harness racing race and the feature event was the Filly & Mares Preferred for pacers.

An early battle broke out between Major League N (Ed Hensley) and Saulsbrook Jessie, but Major League N wanted the front just a bit more. She opened with a 27.4 first quarter and paced the half in 58.1. Just before the half-mile station, So Frisky (Dali) popped out two wide to make her challenge for the front end. She battled hard at took the lead by the three-quarter mark. Colin Kelly put his foot down and drove the mare to a 29.4 closing quarter. The final mile time read, 1:56.0 for the 9-2 minor upset.

Shoot The Whiskey (Travis Cullen) rallied late for the second and Laila Blue (Travis Henry) at 21-1 finished third.

SO FRISKY REPLAY

So Frisky has made three trips to the winner’s circle this year and 41 during the entirety of her racing career. She started racing in 2018 and has been in the care of trainer, Anita Ouellette for the majority of it.
Colin Kelly only earned one win on the card. He had just hit 1900 career wins earlier this week and continues to add to his career total.

Tyler Borth had three driving wins on the night. His first win in the sulky came in the second race with Intense Lady (Bettors Delight) The three-year-old filly paced the mile in 2:02.1. Borth’s second win a few races later in the fifth. This time he won in 1:56.3 with a five-year-old mare, J One Twenty (Artspeak). Borth’s final visit to the winner’s circle came in the eighth race with Shakeitifyougotit (Well Said). 1:57.2 was the mile time for the seven-year-old pacing mare.

The next card at The Raceway at the Western Fair District is set for Wednesday, Mar. 1.
