Harness Analyst – Northfield 24th March carryover pick four

Tonight’s harness racing action features a Pick 4 carryover of more than $7,100 at Northfield Park.

Let’s see if we can put together a winning ticket.

Race 2: 4,5,6,7

(4) OBERTO can be hit-and-miss because of his gait issues, but when he stays flat, he can be really good. He draws inside the other main contender here and he should be in the hunt if he stays trotting.

(5) JOGGINGTOTHEBANK won at the open level three times in five tries last November/December and he qualified well for this return. He could add some value as the likely fourth or fifth choice in the opening leg of this sequence.

(6) EMERALDS LEGACY and (7) WARRAWEE YANG both have been racing extremely well at the Open level at The Meadows and both are sharp and dangerous here.

Race 3: 1,2,3,7

(1) MICHEAL gets class and post relief, and he is hard to leave out starting from the rail.

(2) NUMBER ONE HIT is another that draws much better and drops in class. Merriman will likely send him forward at the start tonight.

(3) APLIN HANOVER gets Wrenn Jr. here and that driver continues to win at a very high rate. He should be one of the contenders.

(7) FAME AND POWER is a longshot worth a look, getting out of the second tier and making his second start at this level.

Race 4: 7

(7) JACANA drops and gets a slightly better post and I see Davis Jr. firing her to the front and leading all the way.

Race 8: 1,4,6

(1) CLEVER CHARACTER won close to half of his starts last year and his March 14th qualifier was good. This 30-time winner is worth using at a big price starting from the rail.

(4) BUDDYTHEBOOKIE gets needed post relief and he won at this level three starts back when he started from the inside. Davis Jr. will surely be aggressive with him tonight.

(6) CONTACT ZONE comes out of a race at The Meadows where he was passed in the stretch by a rival that was taking his fourth straight win. If you dig deep into this horse’s past performances, you will find that he has high gate speed when asked for it. Wrenn Jr. taking the lines adds to this one’s appeal.
