Harness racing hits Manawatu again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 2:49pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Our Pegasus Pearl (3) Freshened and goes ok the track. Good chance with manners
Trifolium (4) Reliable and never out of the placings on the track. Can run top three
Storms Acoming (6) In good form and always goes away. Might stick on for a place

Race 2

Boyz Invasion (6) Quick beginner and another top three looks likely. Top selection
Slainte (3) Getting better with racing. Chance at longer odds with manners early
Castana (8) Has been racing better fields at Alex Park. Off 30m and first look at track

Race 3

Narobi (4) In great form and a win looks close at hand. Top selection in this field
Morere (8) Will get a soft run on the pegs. Can run top three with gaps in the straight
Magie Do (2) Running on recently in similar fields. One of the better place chances

Race 4

Bev The Goat (4) Gate speed and will go forward. Hard to beat with any luck in the race
Sheza Mermaid (3) In form and might press on early for the front. Winning claims here
Million Dollar Chic (2) Getting fitter with racing. Due to fire and has to be included

Race 5

Dom Toretto (7) Fought on well last start. Drawn badly but has to be respected
Carolina Moon (3) Easy winner last start. This is harder but could win again
Sweet Spirit (9) Disappointing last start but track suits. Chance with a good trip

Race 6

Bad Medicine (5) Normally a good beginner and has beaten better fields. Needed
Boudica (1) Conditions suit and her good manners helps here. Should run top three
Hesashorething (2) Likely leader if he steps cleanly. Could surprise at good odds

Race 7

Diamonds Are Forever (3) Nice draw and a big chance with a good trip. Top selection
Hail Lucius (8) Fast horse who goes best with a sit. Fence draw suits and he will run on
Beaudiene Quick Step (1) Should get a soft fence trip. Solid top three chance here

Race 8

Peter Forsberg (1) Has gate speed and might try for an all the way win here. Needed
Lord Delmar (10) Underrated pacer who is in this with a good trip. Has to be included
Benjamin Button (9) Might follow the stable mate. Has the speed to place with luck

Race 9

Oceanic Art (1) Goes well on the track and drawn best in this. Hard to hold out here
Eddie Osei (4) Much better last start and can go close with luck in running. Needed
Stealers Wheel (6) Wide draw but getting fitter and nice third last start. Top three chance
