Hollys Treasure (State Treasurer) was never headed in winning the April Fool’s Day harness racing Preferred at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
The gelding, piloted by Dan Clements, cut fractions of :28, :58.1, and 1:26.2. Beach Tour (Michael Horner) pressed him first-over through the back half and persisted to the wire, but Hollys Treasure pulled away by a length-and-three-quarters to win in 1:55.1. Beach Tour was a tough second. Taylors Credit (Natasha Day) completed the ticket.
