Harness racing hits Timaru again today with seven races on the card. The racing starts at 1:45pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Imperial Command (1) Back to the mobile and sprint trip helps. Likely leader with a good chance
Penelope Hall (6) Good run fresh and this field no stronger. Can run top three with a similar effort
Lotus Franco (3) Has been breaking and mobile will assist here. Looks hard to beat with manners

Race 2

Flying For Me (2) Freshened for this and has the ability to go close here. Top selection in this field
Kalatra (3) Trial winner who has been freshened for this. One of the better chances with the right trip
Teetan (8) Serial galloper who has the motor if he puts it all together. Gear change and new trainer

Race 3

Wudabubbit (6) Good second last start and a win looks close at hand. Top selection in this field
Muscle Sass (8) Speedy trotter who has not had the best of luck. Conditions suit here and can win
Cappaha (3) Could go forward early here. Has to be respected from a lead or trailing position

Race 4

Spectator (7) Quick beginner who has drawn front line. Likely leader who can stick on for top three
Champagne Nen (3) Good at recent trials. Nice draw and a good chance with a good trip
Ari On Safari (13) Tricky draw but has winning claims if he can work into the race at the right time

Race 5

Playing With Stars (2) Has beaten better fields and better draw here. Look for improvement here
Sinai Sermon (8) Trained locally and trialing well. Speedy and has to be respected in this field
Cheeky Red (3) Ran home well last start. Rise in grade no issues and the faster they go the better

Race 6

One El (8) Big run and showed speed last start. Getting better with racing and top selection in this
Special Effects (5) Manners the key but no doubting the ability. Could surprise with no mistakes
Illegal Alien (2) Would prefer over a shorter trip but likely leader here and can stick on for a place.

Race 7

Apatchofgold (4) Finally got a deserved win last start. Can go back to back with a similar effort
Fernz Goldy (1) Better draw for this and conditions suit. Good top three chance with a trail here
Knockshanbally (8) Has trained off but was in good form earlier this year. Has the speed to place
