Convoy Hall (Muscle Mass) added another win to his haul as he remained undefeated in a crushing harness racing performance at a snow-hit Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday (Apr. 4).
The gelding, who made his career debut in February, blasted out from post eight to take the lead before the first turn and hit the quarter in :27.4. He headed the single-file field to the half in :57.4 and began to creep away nearing three-quarters in 1:27.3. Three lengths up entering the stretch, Convoy Hall sped off for Sylvain Filion to a 10-length romp in 1:56.3. The Canam Banker (Tyler Borth) was second with a length-and-a-quarter to spare over Poof (Thomas Smith).
CONVOY HALL REPLAY
Convoy Hall is perfect through four starts for trainer Bob McIntosh. The three-year-old, a $52,000 Lexington purchase, has a combined margin of victory of 22-and-three-quarter lengths in those wins. Robert McIntosh Stables co-owns him with Douglas John McIntosh of Wheatley, Randy Liepa of Livonia, and Beverley Snobelen of Ridgetown.
Winning Alliance (Chapter Seven) also extended her winning streak on the card. The sophomore filly took her third victory in as many starts on the year as she powered to a two-move, six-length victory in 1:58.1 in the opener. Todd Ratchford has piloted her to all three wins for trainer Matt Bax. Bax Stable of Campbellville and Glengate Farms of Erin own the filly, who is now four-for-six lifetime.
WINNING ALLIANCE REPLAY
The upcoming Friday, Apr. 5 card at Woodbine Mohawk Park will feature a $36,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace. First post is set for 7:10 p.m. EST.
