There were a number of trainers who were fined and suspended from harness racing as reported from Racing Commissions in the USA to the USTA.
Jeffrey Marsh received a $2,000 fine and 30-day suspension as his horse, Just Call Me Song, was found positive for Nikerthamide. This took place on 11/15/23 at Ballyās Dover Downs, Delaware.
Trainer Tom Cancelliereās two-year case over his horse, Ruthless Hanover, coming up positive for Aminocaprocic Acid back on 5/15/21 at the Meadowlands, has finally come to a close. Cancelliereās $1,000 fine was upheld by an Administrative Law Judge after appeals and a stay.
Trainer Chris Dubois was fined $1,000 and suspended for 60-days as his horse, Maczaffair N, was found positive for TCO2 at Saratoga Raceway on 3/12/24.
Also having a TCO2 positive was trainer Billy Parker, Jr. at Monticello Raceway on 3/12/24 with the horse Highborn. Parker received a $1,000 fine and 60-day suspension.
Trainer Keith Torro received a $1,000 fine and a 30-day suspension when his horse, My Name Is Hairy, was found to be positive for the Class 3 drug, Minoxidil, at Freehold Raceway on 12/9/24.
Trainers Per Engblom and Patrick Lachance, both received stays in their pending fines and suspensions.
