Armycaptin Hanover (Captaintreacherous) got another one past Sunshine Boy in the top class at Fraser Downs as he beat him in a photo finish on Friday (Apr. 5).
Sunshine Boy (Scott Knight) brushed to the front after a :27.2 opening quarter and led through :57.2 and 1:24 middle panels. Armycaptin Hanover (Allan Molloy) sat third into the final turn but shifted out and quickly converged on Sunshine Boy. The two battled to the line, but Armycaptin Hanover pushed his head in front in the final metres to prevail in 1:52.3. Itll Be Fine (Dave Hudon) trailed them by a length-and-three-quarters in third.
ARMYCAPTIN HANOVER REPLAY
Armycaptin Hanover is now six-for-10 on the year and has won five of his past six starts. Rod Therres has trained the gelding since claiming him on Mar. 2 and oversaw a lifetime-best performance last time out. Armycaptin Hanoverās Friday victory was his 42nd lifetime in 146 appearances, and it upped his lifetime bankroll to $313,801.
Kelly Hoerdt drove and trained three winners on the nightās nine-race card.
