HARRINGTON, DE – Howard Taylor’s Swan In Motion (Swan For All) and harness racing driver Victor Kirby used a fierce late stretch charge to prevail in the $22,500 Open Trot Wednesday (April 10) at Harrington Raceway.
Manatlas, riding a three-race win streak, made the early lead from post 7 in :28.1 seconds and would maintain the top position through a half-mile in :57.2 seconds.
Race favorite That Ole Bar Stool promptly mounted a first-over charge and Swan In Motion followed second-over to three-quarters in 1:26.4. At that point, the outside horses gained momentum as That Ole Bar Stool cleared the lead as Manatlas retreated and Swan In Motion closed ground steadily and nipped That Ole Bar Stool at the wire by a nose in 1:55.1. Certify (Trae Porter) was third.
It was the 3rd win of the year for Swan In Motion, a 7-year-old stallion trained by Dylan Davis. Swan In Motion has 34 career wins and nearly $720,000 earned in his career. He paid $12.60 to win.
