Kentukylady takes Miami Valley feature

The favorite Kentukylady (Big Bad John, Kayne Kauffman) won the $34,000 Fillies and Mares Open harness racing pace at Miami Valley Raceway on Sunday (April 14).

Kentukylady took the early lead, followed by Ocean Music (Dan Noble) on the inside in second. They passed the first quarter mile in :27.

As they made their way to the half mile in :55.1, Kentukylady still had the lead, with Ocean Music in second and Penpaperpaige (Tyler Smith) racing in third.

From the outside, Marloe Hanover (Sam Widger) moved into second as they approached the three-quarter mile in 1:22.4. Kentukylady held on to her lead to finish first in 1:51.2, a neck in front of Marloe Hanover. Penpaperpaige came in third.

KENTUKYLADY REPLAY

Kentukylady is a 5-year-old mare trained by Michael Arnold for owners Russell and Robert Hundley. She paid $4.20 to win.
