The 1-5 favorite Jurassic Hattie (Volstead-High Gear Sahbra, Brett Miller) was the harness racing champion in the $50,000 James K. Hackett Memorial trot at Miami Valley Raceway on Monday (April 22).
Jurassic Hattie went for the early lead, followed by Legacy Affair (Trace Tetrick). They clocked in at the quarter mile in :28. Miller still had Jurassic Hattie on top at the half mile in :58.1. Osaka Hall (Jeremy Smith) had moved into second from the outside, leaving Legacy Affair racing in third.
They passed the three-quarter mile in 1:26.1 with Jurassic Hattie not giving up the lead. She crossed the wire two lengths in front of Legacy Affair in 1:54, a new lifetime mark and the fastest filly trotter in North America in 2024. Iam Independent (Chris Page) came in third.
This was Jurassic Hattieās sixth career win and Millerās 131st winning drive.
