Harness News Update: Picks and analysis for Oak Grove April 23

Oak Grove is to host a 12-dash harness racing card on Tuesday (Apr. 23rd). Pick 5 wagers start in both the first and sixth races. The feature race is the $30,000 Open Trot in the fourth race.

The reigning Open Trot winner, College Tuition (Donato Hanover) drew post eight and comes in at 6-1. He won wire-to-wire last week in 1:54.2 and that was his fifth win of the year. In 101 career appearances he has 13 wins and a lifetime mark of 1:52.4. The six-year-old gelding is trained by Tony Dinges and Jogn Macdonald will be in the bike.

The favourite in the Open Trot is Oh Look Magic (Lookslikeachipndale) and he is making his debut at Oak Grove. He has spent most of his career racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park but has made a few stops along the way.  The four-year-old gelding was most recently racing at the Meadowlands and even won in 1:52.2 on Apr. 6. Ron Burke trains Oh Look Magic and Devon Tharps is scheduled to drive.
