Dynamite Iwannabewithyou takes Rosecroft Open

Iwannabewithyou (Luck Be Withyou, $6.00) and harness racing driver Trae Porter took the $12,000 Open I pace at Rosecroft on Saturday night in scintillating fashion in 1:51.

Porter kept him on the engine despite being parked through a quarter of :26.1, and rolled through fractions of :54.1, 1:22.1 and held off the favorite, Business Director, to take the top spot. It was one of six finishes on the card decided by a length or less and set the tone for a very good Saturday card.

IWANNABEWITHYOU REPLAY

Forest Bartlett owns the winner who was an $8,000 bargain at the Hoosier yearling sale, and now posts earnings of $219,624 for trainer Kevin Lare who won twice on the night. Porter scored with the Lare trainee, DL’s Big Elvis in the finale for owner Dylan George.

Porter swept the Opens as He’s Gonna Getya (JK Endofanera) won the $10,000 Open II for Trainer John Wagner. He offspring went coast to coast in 1:53.2.

Jonathan Roberts won three times on the card and had the drive of the night on Honky Tonk Flame (Always B Miki). He looked destined for fourth as he followed the leaders led by Marcus Seelster at the top of the stretch through fractions of :25.4, :54.3, 1:22.4. As Lucky Ramsey and Blowin Smoke were challenging the leader, Roberts made one last gasp effort to win by going four wide in the final 16th of the mile and nailed the trio as all four finished within one length of each other in 1:53.2. Lonnie Cohen was the winning owner and Brian Burton the winning trainer.

HONKY TONK FLAME REPLAY

Russell Foster drove three winners, Roger Plante and WIlliam Carter had two wins on the nifght including one with Bo Breeze who had not won since 2022. Trainer Kerry Cooper won twice and Adrian Wisher Jr., won the Mid Atlantic Amateur Driving Club division with Cruise Patrol, trained by Adrian Wisher Sr., for owners Joshua Schwartz and Raymond Hoegen.
