Hall hot at Bangor

Bangor, Maine … Aaron Hall held the hot hand at Bangor Raceway on Sunday (May 12), teaming three winners down Victory Lane while hitting the board in five out of seven driving opportunities on the Mother’s Day card.

Hall launched his hat trick quest in the very first dash, parlaying a perfect pocket trip into a 3/4-length victory as he guided Uptown Lover (2:00-$5.00) past the front running Excelant Chance (Dan Deslandes), securing the first win of the season for the Christine Holt trainee.

Settling for minor spoils though the midway portion of the program, Hall regained the winning edge as morning melded into afternoon, engineering stirring gate-to-wire victories in both halves of the late daily double, beginning with Verge of Greatness (1:58.1-$10.40) from his father’s (Craig Hall) roster and then culminating with Cutter Loose (2:00-$4.00) who won for the third time since joining the Logan Lanpher stable four starts ago.

Hall’s driving triple elevated him into a three way tie for the runner-up ranking on the Bangor Raceway leaders’ board with Heath Campbell and Shawn Thayer, whose five seasonal wins trail current top stick, Dan Deslandes, by a single tally.

In other Bangor news, drivers Dan Deslandes and Heath Campbell won two races each during Sunday’s performance while trainers Jeff Deslandes’ and Craig Hall’s rosters claimed top honors with two wins apiece. The two Deslandes scores moved his stable into a top place tie in the Bangor training standings with the Karl Butterfield barn, with each top rated outfit boasting five seasonal wins.

Live harness racing is proudly featured at Bangor Raceway throughout the summer season every Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. (EDT) with the Sunday morning matinees going to post bright and early at 11:00 a.m. Simulcast wagering is available daily in the grandstand facility.
