Fear Her Touch (Fear The Dragon) and harness racing driver Leon Bailey captured the $6,500 featured fillies & mares’ pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (May 17).
Hes Express (Brandon Cruse) led to the quarter in :27.2. She used a :29.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.0. She cruised to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they made the turn for home Fear Her Touch ($6.70) popped the pocket and took control. Second place finisher Unusual Clarity (Ron Harp) came charging late, but it was too late as Fear Her Touch won in a lifetime best of 1:52.3. Hes Express had to settle for third.
Fear Her Touch is a 5-year-old mare owned and trained by James Rothfuss. It was her fourth win this season and her 16th career victory.

John MacDonald had a driving grand slam on the night. Three of those were with trainer Jessica Okusko. They won with Irish Exit Express, Devious Dan, and Crazy Crown. J-Mac got his fourth win with Prairie Special.
