A purse increase will take place at MGM Yonkers Raceway beginning with the harness racing condition sheet that comes out on Monday, May 27 and effective for races starting Monday, June 3. High-end races will have a boost of approximately 10 percent, while low-end races will bump up by 15 percent.
In addition to the purse increase, Yonkers has a stakes-filled month of June coming up. On Friday, June 21, elimination races are scheduled for the MGM Yonkers Trot and MGM Grand Messenger Stakes, the first legs of the Trotting and Pacing Triple Crowns for 3-year-olds. Their companion filly events – the New York New York Mile and the Park MGM Pace ā will also be on the docket when the finals occur the following Friday (June 28).
The New York Sire Stakes circuit will also visit MGM Yonkers Raceway twice, with the first legs for 2-year-old filly trotters and rookie pacing males on June 25 and June 27, respectively.
While there will be a Wednesday program on June 26, Yonkers is operating primarily on a Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday schedule through the end of September. Post time each night is 7 p.m. (EDT).
