Cream Ridge, NJ – 5/29/2024 – It was another great harness racing charity golf outing for the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) on Tuesday (May 28) at the Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, NJ! The support, the company, the weather and the fun were just what was ordered for the success of its 31st year on the greens.
Support from sponsors, golfers, donors, and volunteers was outstanding. Our retired NJ Senator, Ray Lesniak didn’t seem a bit retired when he was swinging the clubs! Three family businesses, Evil Fades Barber Shop in Millstone Township; Total Enterprise Construction; and Andrew James Hair Co., closed for the day to gather together to stir up some fun and support!
Cocktails and dinner brought non-golfers such as A Norton Septic and friends, the Ingrassia’s, Millstone Equine Veterinarians, and several others. SRF’s President, Peter G. Gerry expressed a few words of thanks and how his family, steep in harness racing history supports SRF’s work for decades. He urged racing to recognize its mission of rescue, different from others, and to support its need.
