On North American harness racing tracks it’s all about speed over a mile trip, in Australia it’s a mix of both standing start and mobile features across a range of track sizes, in New Zealand it could be about an extreme two-mile contest or a grass track race featuring non-race winners and in Europe the champion trotter is celebrated as a king of the track.

USA REPLAY
The flying Karl. They don’t much quicker than. Steven Wolf covered the New Jersey Sire Stakes for three-year-old trotting colts final at The Meadowlands on Friday with Karl proving too strong in the rich $240’000 feature. A 1.51 enough to see of race rivals by a handy margin – and one that was growing as the progressive star strode away from the field over the concluding stages. Watch the action below.

Nicholas Barnsdale reported on a horse in good form at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday. O Large Marge making every hoofprint a winning one with a commanding performance that means that the daughter of Big Jim is now 3 for 5 in her debut season.
NEW ZEALAND REPLAY
Bruce Stewart covered the impressive Sapling Stakes victory of Marketplace on Sunday, the son of Bettor’s Delight showing some real speed from the pegs to capture the Group 2 event over race favourite Got The Chocolates. The feature, event, which is known to produce the stars of the future, certainly may have unearthed another one with the smart win following on from some consistent form against the best of his age group in recent weeks.
