Harness News Update: Picks & Analysis for Rideau Carleton June 6th

Thursday (June 6) afternoon harness racing returns to Rideau Carleton Raceway this week and they kick off with a 10-dash card. The Pick 5 wager starts in the sixth race and runs through to the tenth.

The feature event is the Preferred Trot which goes in the fourth race. A field of five top-trotters will battle over a purse or $10,000. The morning line favourite and reigning Preferred champ is Ima Standup Guy (Archangel).

He earned his third win of the year and ninth of his career his last time out and trotted the mile in 1:55.1. The Mandy Archer-trained gelding won as a minor 4-1 upset and will look to repeat this week.

IMA STANDUP GUY REPLAY

Meadowbranch Noble (Explosive Matter) is the usual betting favourite in the Preferred Trot and for good reason. He has five wins this year and four of them have been in the top trotting class at Rideau Carleton Raceway. He finished second behind Ima Standup Guy in their most recent start. Before that, Meadowbranch Noble got the better of his stablemate and won in 1:55. Mandy Archer also trains the seven-year-old Meadowbranch Noble.
