Warrawee Xalt (Royalty For Life) proved best on the sloppy harness racing track at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (Jun. 6) in the track’s Preferred-Handicap.
Ryan Guy sat the gelding in the pocket as Meadowbranch Noble (Guy Gagnon), a four-time Rideau Preferred winner this season, cut the mile. The latter put up panels of :27.3, :57.2, and 1:26.4 with Ima Standup Guy (Robert Shepherd) first-over on him from the half.
Warrawee Xalt took the inside route coming off the final turn and surged clear by two-and-a-quarter lengths to take the victory in 1:57.1.
Ima Standup Guy held off Crossfit (Jimmy Gagnon) for second. The track was rated three seconds slow.
WARRAWEE XALT REPLAY
Warrawee Xalt is now three-for-13 on the season. After making every start of his career at Woodbine Mohawk Park, he moved to Rideau Carleton in May. He’s won his past two races and hasn’t missed the board in five starts at the track. Patrick Dillon trains the five-year-old and co-owns him with Patti Hoskin of Port Hope. The five-year-old has racked up 16 wins and $234,380 in earnings in 63 career outings.
Racing will resume at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday, Jun. 9 at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
