The surge of Downbytheseaside’s progeny continued over the weekend when he celebrated his 100th individual harness racing winner in Australasia.
The milestone was reached by Doteldo (Rocknroll Hanover dam) was the horse who brought up the 100th individual winner. The 3-year-old filly did it in style, winning by over 20 metres. It was also a quinella for Downbytheseaside with Let Me At It (Bettor’s Delight dam) pacing into second.
While still only a young stallion with just three crops of racing age on the track, Downbytheseaside is making a name for himself in both hemispheres already. He has made a real impact in North America, reflected by his $17,500 service fee and full and closed books.
Across Australasia he has already sired multiple Group 1 winners including Coastal Babe and Aardiebytheseaside, as well as many other star feature race winners such as The Bettor Side, Gone Surfin, Waverider and Forever Dream.
Downbytheseaside’s son Forty Love has also been invited to compete in the exciting $500,000 2-year-old Protostar Slot race in Queensland next month. He has been impressive in his four Victorian starts to date, winning three and placing third in the other. He is trainer, driven, owned and was bred by Aaron Dunn.
With his biggest crops still to come, Downbytheseaside is one of the most exciting sires in harness racing right now. He is set to be one of the big players and follow in the footsteps of his older roster mates, Bettor’s Delight, Sweet Lou and American Ideal. Make sure you catch the next wave and breed your mare(s) to Downbytheseaside in the coming season!
