Burham harness racing trainer Mark Jones is closing in on a milestone with his 800th training win just one win away.
He has six starters at Addington tomorrow night with Blazing Knuckles (Bettor’s Delight) starting the ‘Jones show’ in Race One.
The two year old filly has had two public runs, winning a workout at Rangiora at the end of last month and qualifying on the same course a week later.
Audio PlayerMaiden trotting filly Crossed Keys, (Father Patrick) after being tapped up a long way from home, ran a solid fourth on debut. She should be suited to the 2600 metre stand.
Audio PlayerTact Teena (Bettor’s Delight) is in good form and was rewarded with her maiden race last week. This race is a step up in grade but she gets a nice draw to play with in Race Three.
Audio PlayerJones has two runners in Race Six – Kowhai Nugget (Sweet Lou) and Tempo Warrior (A Rocknroll Dance).
Kowhai Nugget hasn’t been to the races for nearly twelve months. He’s had two trials to prepare him for tomorrow’s 1980 metre mobile.
Audio PlayerTempo Warrior has a wide draw to overcome but his form has been solid and this race is a step back in grade.
Audio PlayerTact McLeod (Sweet Lou) trained by Trevor Proctor is currently stabled at Jones’s barn. He won his most recent trial and this looks like a winnable race for him.
Audio PlayerSweethomealabama (Sweet Lou) has won two of his five starts and is in the best field of the night with plenty of exposed form. He impressed with his win last week.
Audio PlayerJones rates Blazing Knuckles as the stable’s best bet.
Addington gets underway on Friday at 4.44pm and can be viewed on Trackside One.
