Meadowbranch Noble’s (Explosive Matter) win in the Preferred-Handicap at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (Jun. 13) was the cherry on top of a harness racing grand slam for trainer Mandy Archer.
Guy Gagnon provided the gelding a pocket trip, and Meadowbranch Noble pounced on leader Warrawee Xalt (Ryan Guy) as the passing lane opened. He pulled clear of that rival in the stretch and kept the closing Emma Town Bud (Pierre Bovay) at bay for the one-length win in 1:55. Emma Town Bud took second over Warrawee Xalt.
MEADOWBRANCH NOBLE REPLAY
Meadowbranch Noble has tallied 17 wins in 117 career starts and has built his bankroll to $264,349. The seven-year-old moved to the Archer barn and Rideau Carleton in March for owner Jamie Copley.
Archer’s other wins came with Speaker Nancy (Artspeak, Guy, 1:53.3), Munk (Muscle Hill, Gagnon, 1:57.2) in his first victory for the trainer, and Big Cheddar (Betterthancheddar, Robert Shepherd, 1:55). The conditioner is 31-for-135 this season with earnings of $186,582.
Rideau Carleton is set for more racing on Sunday, Jun. 16, starting at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
