The Somebeachsomewhere horse Soho Lanikai, the winner of the Victoria Premiere Stakes by an amazing 65 metres at his only harness racing start, has made a flying start as a sire.
The young stallion has 13 foals from his first crop as two-year-olds and three trialled at Maryborough last Sunday (June 16) and all received their qualifying tickets.
All are trained by Michael Stanley, who stands Soho Lanikai at his Burrumbeet (near Ballarat) property.
Captain Moore, a colt out of the Bettorās Delight mare Our Chelsea Girl NZ, and Soho Empire State, a half-brother to the Group 2 winner Soho Dow Jones ($188,233), quinellaed their trial.
The filly Soho Pina Colada, the first foal of the Art Major mare Soho Whisper NZ (1:56.3), also qualified on the day.
āTheyāll go to the races soon and hopefully theyāll do a good job,ā Ian Stanley, Michaelās father, said.
Soho Lanikai served 15 mares last season.
