HARRINGTON, DE – Jo Ann Looney-King’s Curtsyforpurrseco (Roddy’s Bags Again) and driver Tim Tetrick were the fastest of a trio of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) $20,000 elimination winners Tuesday (June 18) at Harrington Raceway with a 1:56.1 triumph in the 2nd leg of stakes harness racing action.
Tetrick urged Curtsyforpurrseco first over near three-quarters where she responded willingly and cleared pacesetter Bad Nella Monella and drew away from the field for her 4th win of the season. Slipinsidewayz finished second, while Bad Nella Monella held third. Trained by Jim King Jr., “Curtsy” has won 10 of 20 career starts and paid $2.10 to win.
CURTSYFORPURRSECO REPLAY
Shawn Hanley’s Grace O’Malley (Emeritus Maximus) and driver Corey Callahan completed a sweep of her eliminations with a wire-to-wire win in 1:58.2 over Makemymommaproud, who was a close second, and Salma. Trained by Crissy Crissman-Bier, it was the 4th career win for the filly who paid just $2.10 to win.
GRACE O’MALLEY REPLAY
Dylan Davis and Kevin Switzer’s Smalltown Bad Girl (Badlands Hanover) and driver Art Stafford Jr. won the remaining DSBF split in 1:57 over Jett Propelled and Designs On You. The filly registered her 3rd career win for co-owner/trainer Davis, holding off a late bid from Jett Propelled as she set a new lifetime best and paid $14.40 to win.
SMALLTOWN BAD GIRL REPLAY
The top 8 point earners from all the DSBF divisions will return to compete in the $110,000 finals on July 25 during the Delaware State Fair.
In the $22,500 Mares Free-For-All, Majorca N (Art Major) left the gate alertly and led from post position six through fractions of :28, :56.3 and 1:24.4 while Shield Maiden sat in the pocket. In the stretch Majorca N opened up 2 lengths on her closest pursuer, Shield Maiden, while Feeling Sweet charged home for third.
Majorca N ($5.40, Corey Callahan) notched her 35th career win for owner Mike Casalino and co-owner/trainer Dylan Davis.
MAJORCA N REPLAY
Later in the card, Rodney Longās Need Ur Opinion ($4.80, Montrell Teague) notched her 14thĀ win of the year in 1:54.2 for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. The 7-year-old Warrawee Needy mare is tied with Hugh Heff for the most wins in North America this year.
On the Wednesday program, prior to the first wagering event, Graham Grace Stableās Call Me Goo will visit the Harrington winnerās circle for an interview with trainer Jason Skinner on the standout trotterās most recent win in the Armbro Flight (June 16) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule through June 26 (post time 4:30 p.m.).
