Pasta Momma aims to maintain perfection

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Pasta Momma (Huntsville) will look to remain undefeated on red soil in the featured harness racing event on a rescheduled Friday (June 21) evening program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Red Shores prioritizes the safety of equine and human participants so with the impending heat wave set to blanket the province mid-week, officials with Red Shores have rescheduled the originally scheduled Thursday (June 20) program to Friday (June 21) with a 6 P.M. start time.

The 11-dash Friday program has the $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred lining up in race 10.

Pasta Momma is the morning line favourite for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Landon Campbell and owners Brady Doyle of Stratford and Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris. The four-year-old made her presence known in her Island debut as she captured this class in 1:56 last week. Pasta Momma will leave from post 3 on Friday.

Acefortyfour Dome has rail control in the feature with Mark Bradley getting the catch driving call for trainer Ashley Gamester. A multiple time winner at this level in 2023, Acefortyfour Dome will seek career win number 35 from post 1.

The other entries in the field are no strangers to this class as the lineup includes Ms Moyse (To be driven by Adam Merner) from post 2 along with Rosetown Mary (Corey MacPherson) with post 4 and Tobins Brownie (David Dowling) leaving from post 5.

The Post Time Picks like Acefortyfour Dome on top.

Race 5 is the Workers Compensation Board Of PEI 75th Anniversary Pace. Saulsbrook Pika (Brodie MacPhee) is the top selection from post 4 for trainer Tom Weatherbie and owners Ian Smith and David Kennedy.

Race 6 is the top trot class for a $3,100 purse featuring Jessiejesorjessica (David Dowling) favoured over fellow Jennifer Doyle trainee New Legacy (Ken Murphy) and the Landon Campbell stable entry Irish Ray (Marc Campbell).

Due to extreme heat conditions, the Future Stars of Racing scheduled for Wednesday June 19^th at Red Shores Summerside has been moved to Tuesday June 25th at 4pm prior to the live racing program.  This will also feature a complimentary BBQ on the tarmac.
