CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Harness racing driver David Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle clicked multiple times on the Thursday evening (June 27) program to lead the standings at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
David Dowling continued to top the driving standings at the historic half-mile oval with five winners on the Thursday card that also saw a training triple by Jennifer Doyle to overtake Jeff Holmes and put the Earnscliffe conditioner back on top of the training statistics.
Dowling and Jessiejesorjessica captured the $3,300 Open Trot in 1:58.1 for trainer Doyle along with winning steers with Doyle stablemates Lady Devine (1:57.1) and Woodmere Heather M (1:57.1). Dowling’s other wins came with Shes Rockandfame (2:01), trained by his brother Mike Dowling and Elm Grove Redwine (1:56) from his own stable.
Leading at every call, Pasta Momma was the best in the Thursday evening featured $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace.
Marc Campbell was in the seat for the winning effort aboard the Landon Campbell trainee in 1:55 for owners Brady Doyle and Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris. Redlandbethanyjean (Driven by Brodie MacPhee) closed in on that front-stepping foe in the stretch drive to finish second with Plain Jane (Brady Sweet) third.
