I Draintheswamp A takes Tioga feature

I Draintheswamp A (Somebeachsomewhere, Marcus Miller) charges late to capture the $10,000 featured harness racing pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (June 30).

Battlefield (Tyler Miller) was first to the quarter in :26.3. He used a :28.1 second quarter to lead to the half in :54.4.  Fess Up N (Mike Merton) was first to challenge going first-up down the backstretch. Battlefield narrowly led to three-quarters in 1:22.3.

As they reached the stretch I Draintheswamp A ($11.60) came flying three-wide and blew right on by to win in a lifetime best of 1:50.4. Battlefield was second. Fess Up N finished third.

I Draintheswamp A is a 7-year-gelding trained by Erv Miller for owners Douglas Overhiser and Never 2 Late Stable. It was his second win this season. He now has 11 career victories. Tyler Miller and Braxten Boyd had driving doubles.  Jeff Cullipher had a training double.
