PROMISING young reinsman Sean O’Sullivan continued his successful affiliation with Angus Indiana (Heston Blue Chip) when the pair combined to score an upset harness racing win at Melton.
O’Sullivan gave the six-year-old a perfect run in transit landing one out one back trailing up the $4.20 favorite Hot Deal.
O’Sullivan waited until turning for home before staking his claim and the Scott Rains trained Angus Indiana ($41) produced a stout finale to score by a metre and a half from Son Of Mac with The Beach Fantasy a metre away third.

O’Sullivan said he wasn’t concerned when he was posted wide early in the race.
“I was a bit wide before I got one out one back but it didn’t really worry me because the horse is pretty tough and we didn’t have to do a lot of work to get in,” O’Sullivan said.
O’Sullivan knew he would be able to make one last run at the leaders.
“I was following one of the favoured runners so I knew he would take me well into the straight, so I thought my horse would be hard to beat because he hits the line strongly,” he said.
O’Sullivan has now partnered Angus Indiana to four wins from his past six starts after Rains handed him the reins at Shepparton in September last year.
“I think Scott wanted to use my five-point concession claim and it’s been good that he has kept me on the horse,” he said.
Angus Indiana will head to the paddock for a brief spell before being aimed at the country cups circuit according to O’Sullivan.
“He showed when he won over 2690 metres at Shepparton that he will appreciate the distance of the country cups,” he said.
The 22-year-old O’Sullivan is enjoying a career best season with 23 winners to date.
“It’s been good with a lot more trainers putting me on including Glenn Bull and that has given me more confidence,” he said.
