90,000€ monte test held at Enghien-Soisy

The monte Gr. III Prix Jean Paul Fairant (purse 90,000€, 2875 meters, 11 starters ages 6-11) was this day’s (July 10) harness racing featured event at Enghien-Soisy.

Timed in 1.12.5kr the 5.1/1 odds Fulton (9g Royal Dream-Pivoine) ran down the open lengths leader and scored by a neck on the wire. William Dersoir-Habib was the jockey for trainer Jean Michel Bazire and owner/breeder Ecurie des Charmes.

The winner now shows 19 wins in 86 starts for 638,240 earned. 17 of those victories were in montre races.

Finishing second was the 6.7/1 odds pacesetter Epsom d;Herfraie (10g Rieussec) with Ines Fraigne aboard for trainer J.M. Baudouin. Third was Fanatic Flash (9g Offshore Dream) with jockey Estelle Croisic on the lines for trainer J.P. Raffegeau. Geisha Speed (8f Uriel Speed) was fourth at 2/1 with Oscar Placier in the irons and 2.4/1 odds Go For The Gold (8g Ready Cash) took fifth with Benjamin Chauve-Laffay aboard.

Enghien will host two groupe races on Saturday July 13 starting with the Prix du Palais de Chaillot (75,000€, 2875 meters, 16 European starters) and the featured Gr. II Prix de Washington (purse 120,000€, 1609 meters autostart with nine starters ages four to 11). The Washington prize has a superb field as shown below.

The great Ganymede mare Ampis Mede SM makes her comeback in this race under new trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.
